Still Know Little Science (SKLS) Publisher was established on the principle that scientific knowledge should be accessible to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and the public regardless of geographic location, institutional affiliation, or economic circumstances.
SKLS supports scholarly journals and research communities through manuscript submission, editorial assessment, independent peer review, revision, production, publication, article discovery, and long-term scholarly communication.
As a nonprofit publisher, SKLS is mission-driven. Surplus resources are intended to support publishing operations, research dissemination, open-science infrastructure, editorial development, and activities that further the publisher's scholarly objectives.

Our Publishing Principles
- Open access: published research should be immediately accessible without subscription barriers.
- Editorial independence: editorial decisions should be based on scholarly merit, relevance, methodological quality, and ethical standards rather than commercial considerations.
- Research integrity: authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher share responsibility for protecting the reliability of the scholarly record.
- Transparency: journal policies, peer-review models, fees, licensing terms, and editorial processes should be stated clearly.
- Equity and inclusion: financial or geographic circumstances should not create unnecessary barriers to participation in scholarly publishing.
Commitment to Open Science
SKLS supports open access, responsible research-data sharing, preprint dissemination, transparent reporting, reproducibility, and appropriate reuse of published work. Editorial Independence and Research Integrity
Editors are expected to make publication decisions independently and without inappropriate influence from commercial, financial, personal, or organizational interests. Editorial decisions should be based on the scholarly merits of the work and the applicable journal policies.
SKLS publishing policies are informed by internationally recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing, including guidance issued by organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where applicable.
Equitable Publishing
SKLS aims to keep publication charges proportionate to the actual costs of scholarly publishing. Waiver and discount mechanisms may be available to authors who cannot reasonably meet publication charges, according to the applicable journal policy. Ability to pay should not determine editorial acceptance or rejection.
Publishing Platform
The SKLS publishing platform supports the manuscript lifecycle from submission through publication, including account management, manuscript metadata, file submission, editorial screening, peer review, revision, editorial decisions, proof handling, issue organization, publication, and article discovery.
The platform is continuously developed to improve author, reviewer, editor, and reader services while supporting reliable metadata, accessibility, discoverability, and long-term scholarly publishing operations.
